On Tesla Motors’ Norwegian web site, consumers can enter the site «Design Studio» to get offers for numerous Tesla models. The NCO has concluded that significant information about credit costs are missing on the site, when for instance monthly installment fees are not included in the monthly price of the loan.
The NCO has also told Tesla to change how they use the advertising term “After Incentives & Petrol Savings”, which is a calculated amount taking into account fuel savings and other reduced costs for owners of electric vehicles for a period of five years. The NCO argues that Tesla present their prices in a manner that makes it easy to confuse consumers and give a misleading impression of the price.
Tesla has now been warned that the case will be submitted to the Market Council. The Council may prohibit illegal commercial practices and set an enforcement penalty.
Tesla has been asked to provide any additional comments to the NCO by August 1st 2016.
